September 2, 2000 Went
looking for some early run steelies, or salmon. Didn't
spot any so decided to try for a brown.
Approached an area that had many risers and quickly tied on a
small BWO only to find out that they were only 3 inch
trout. Ended up catching only one chub on a weighted
streamer with a lead core section of line at the end of my loop
to loop rig that I was pounding some of the deeper holes with in
hopes of catching a lake runner.
Had this Goose swim right up to me
and pass
me on the creek. It was bound and determined to swim
past me and not get out and walk on shore.
September 4, 1999
Fished up above the bridge on Leffew road.
Nice evening, but a little hot. Lots of risers but mostly
small fry. Did catch on 6" brookie and released.
Couldn't count the number of 4-5" fish caught. A
beautiful section of creek "really it's a river", with cold water
even this late in the summer. Very wooded and remote, with the
creek being a bit tight in spots for those who don't like to roll
cast.

A beautiful section of upper Bear Creek
