Finally made it back out on
what used to be my home waters after 5 long years. My how
things have changed, holes have disappeared, and new ones have
formed. Not a single bite. Water was very high and
stained. The most disappointing thing about the trip was the
damage I am seeing become more and more prevalent to the creek.
See the picture below.

A landowner decided to clear
most of his property near the creek. The banks have
de-stabilized and collapsed resulting in huge amount of silt being
washed into the creek. The silt fence shown here is a joke.
I am concerned about the long term prospects of this creek
sustaining a trout population.

This trout was caught in Paint Creek in late September of 1989. Some do get even
bigger.
